For once, we leave Kiruna with a dry tent, thanks to the sun. We however pack it with a few mosquitoes that will look like constellations from the inside.
The swedish railway companies won : we won't take the train thanks to a cumbersome website, no ticket office and elusive phone service... let's take the road !It was a good idea as there is few trafic and the landscape is improving greatly !
We grasp a sight on some far away mountains, among marshes and alarmingly small fir trees.
Less and less trees, more and more snow layers in sight.
Then we come to see the Torneträsk, at last ! The flat surface acts as a mirror, setting peaks in the sky !
As the road goes along the lake for about 50km, we have way enough time to enjoy the view. We stop in the village of Abisko, a gateway to the national park and the famous Kungsleden trek, just in time to see the rain falling from our shelter. But nothing retains us here and we proceed further to the next camping.
... and that camping is quite difficult to reach for the few mad cyclist who can't count on a powerful engine to lift them.
