Nice time in the Drôme

As every morning, we start by having our breakfast. And as we are in a hotel, we take our part of the huge basket of bread and pastries we're given.

We go on for a short tour inside Valence with our guts full...

As expected, getting outside the city is seriously annoying. The "official" (and undone) ViaRhona is on the other shore of the Rhône and the Ardèche county isn't as bicycle-friendly as the Drôme one.
So we go in a perfect loop for 5km, with an obvious lack of signposts. But a local cyclist helps us following the way !

The weather is fantastic and it's a real pleasure to picnic outside, in the shade of the trees.

Ok, on one hand, it's nice but on the other hand, following the Rhône's shores isn't the most efficient way to get some distance done. We must go through a lot of detours to see our movement on the map, it's frustrating !

Sometimes, the mountains get closer to the river, showing us some nice landscapes !

We are forced to have a pause to pump up the moral and the air pressure in one tyre. That tyre is indeed at the end of its life and should be replaced soon, for it could explode beyond any repair possibility.

Back in the Drôme, we understand that the whole way is signposted inside the county, almost flawlessly ! Congratulations !!!

In a special place, we have a super landscape 4-in-1 with a nuclear powerplant, its power lines, the highway an the nationale 7 (the highway ancestor)... Ok, let's find another place to sleep !

We're getting closer to the Provence...

...and we're in !

By the way, we find easily a camping near Montélimar. Although we struggle a lot to get inside, we're fine once settled.
Tomorrow, we should get one day closer to Avignon...
