Nordic turquoise in the eyes


 

After a precious resting day, we leave our charming scottish hosts, Kate, Gregor and their family.

Kate, Gregor, thank you !

Leaving slowly and lately toward Harstad, we have some occasions to see this extraordinary turquoise water. In the background, fjords, clouds and rain show a never repeated decor.

New country, new products, new currency : we start from zero once again for shopping... Luckily, credit card is accepted almost everywhere here !

We take what was supposed to be a small road, to get a ferry. Unfortunately, it's climbing, raining, and full of cars... until we get out of this sprawling city.

After the col, a superb panorama is showing up : a large bay filled with turquoise and sunlight, surrounded by mountains and an apocalyptic sky. Wow !

The road going along the sea, we almost  end up with a pain in the neck, staring at this incredible landscape.

Now and there, rain showers play with light (and our clothing).


Just too bad the ferry doesn't start from this bay, but from a village further under the grey clouds.

We have a short warm time in the passenger's cabin on the ferry.

Disembarked on the other side of the fjord, we head for the camping ... under rain.
Instead of a camping, we found a half disused motel and cafeteria, so we set up our tent on the nicely mowed grass behind the garbage containers.

We were lucky to pitch all our tent's guy ropes because...
